Soling One Meter 
AMYA Member
Each 'little white boat' represents one of approximately 2,650 Soling One Meter boats registered with the Class Association since 1993 (less approximately 250 with addresses that Google Earth could not geo- locate).
Each 'ltitle blue person' represents one of the current 874 American Model Yachting Association (AMYA) members who report owning a Soling One Meter during the 2009-2010 season (less approximately 102 with addresses that Google Earth could not geo-locate).
The AMYA member numbers represent only the Soling One Meter sailors who took out or renewed their AMYA membership in the last year - the number of boats is much greater (because many skippers own more than a single boat) and the number of sailors is much greater (because not every Soling One Meter owner keeps their AMYA membership current).
It has been the practice of the class to assign hull/sail numbers to boats only when a member holds a current AMYA membership, but the AMYA only counts current AMYA memberships when 'counting the number of boats in a class'. We are currently assigning sail numbers in the 2600-2700 range - and there is, or has been a boat for every number that came before...
Please note that in many urban centers and along the coastline in some states, there are so many 'little white boats' that counting them on the map isn't easily accomplished (if your eyesight is really that good)! The resolution of this map is quite limited, but it will be possible in the near future to view a 'public' Google Map (that will allow closer scrutiny).
